Isolation

A very important part of life is connecting with YOURSELF. Sometimes we get so caught up between work, school, friends, family, hobbies, just keeping up with everything because life is so busy, and we tend to lose touch with ourselves. It's really good for your soul to just get away for a while, whether it's taking a vacation, moving somewhere new, or just shutting your phone off. Always remember that it's okay to isolate yourself from others in order to be in touch with yourself. I notice that a lot of people going through depression tend to isolate themselves and they hate doing so- but I think it's a great idea. It gives you more time to think, calm you down, and let your feelings out to yourself. Your true friends will understand that you need to take the time to figure yourself out and connect with yourself. It's always great to connect with others but you are the most important thing in your life, we continue to learn more about ourselves every day, we are always changing and sometimes it's hard to keep up with ourselves so we need to take a moment to realize things about ourselves.

Nowadays we are very addicted to our phones, apps, and the internet; try turning your phone off for a day or so (I plan on doing this for a week) during the time that you're normally on your cellphone, you'll discover new interests and new ways to keep you occupied. It's never good to be too caught up on the internet because a lot of the time we are looking at other people's posts, focusing on their life, when we should really be focusing on our own. It doesn't matter where your friend went yesterday, who they're with, what they ate, etc. Put your phone down and focus on yourself. You don't have to constantly speak to others, you're allowed to clear your head and find something cleansing to do. Read a book, draw, write, enjoy nature, meditate, pray (if you're religious), do yoga, etc. These are all good activities that let you focus more on yourself and reconnect with your soul. When I have free time I enjoy writing down all the things I want to do in my future, I like to make plans and write down my goals which really encourages me and keeps me motivated. Writing down goals is a great idea, I started to notice that I have so many, and I'm so happy to watch myself succeed!
